Shoreham Documentary Filmed at SBU Libraries Airs on Japanese TV

filming 1A Japanese documentary on the Shoreham Nuclear Plant featuring rare government documents held by Stony Brook University Libraries, including the Emergency Evacuation Plan for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, will be broadcast on July 24 on Tokyo’s channel 4. The program, “NNN Document” (Nippon News Network) is one of the oldest documentary programs and was started in 1970. NNN Document has received many awards including the international Emmy award  Filming for the documentary took place, in part, in the Melville Library on April 15, 2015, and includes an appearance by librarian Sally Stieglitz, SBU Libraries‘ subject specialist for Government Information. The documentary was produced and directed by Yoshiji Nishimoto of Nippon TV Network.filming 2
