Important news from the Reserves department

At the end of each semester, all material that was on reserve for the semester is removed to make way for the upcoming semester’s reserve collection.  If you’re planning on using something that is currently on reserve for the winter session or spring semester, please fill out a Continuing Reserve Request form.

If you have a new reserve request or want to put something on reserve for the summer sessions or fall semester, please fill out a new reserve request.

There has been an important change in the ordering process for reserves:  The Reserves department will no longer be purchasing material for course reserves. Instead, instructors are encouraged to draw course materials from the Libraries’ physical or online collections or from the many open education resources (OER) now readily available. Discover OERs on the SBU Libraries’ Open Education Guide and Open SUNY Textbooks and OER Services.

If you have purchase recommendations, you may submit purchase requests through the online purchase recommendation form. Contact your library subject liaison if you have questions about ordering material.

For more information about reserves, contact the Reserves department at reserves@stonybrook.edu or at 631.632.7115.
