Use Research Databases, to find articles in journals, magazines, newspapers, as well as some multimedia content and similar resources. Many Research Databases, in addition to describing the documents available, link to the full texts of these documents. If full text is not available, consult STARS or the libraries' Electronic Journals. The libraries subscribe to over ten thousand journals in electronic format which may contain articles that are not available in full text in the research databases or in the libraries' print collections.
In addition to our set of databases we subscribe to, throughout the year we offer access to a selection of Trial Databases.
eBooks includes electronic versions of books in the library's collection, as well as collections eBooks available on the web.
Quick Reference links to a variety of reference works online such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and almanacs.
Off-campus access and use restrictions. Almost all of these electronic resources are owned or leased by the libraries, and are not available on the “free” web. On campus, they are available to all users; however, off-campus access is limited to current Stony Brook faculty, students, and staff. In addition, certain restrictions govern their use, reproduction, and distribution. All users should be aware of and abide by these restrictions.
