Jennifer Lyon (Biomedical & Translational Research Librarian) and Clara Tran (Science Librarian) presented “Faculty Use of Author Identifiers and Researcher Networking Tools” at the METRO Science Librarians Research Forum on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.  The research forum provided an excellent venue for discussion and exchange of STM project ideas and best practices.

Jennifer and Clara discussed the current state of Stony Brook faculty’s awareness of, interest in, and usage of the faculty profiling systems, as well as online professional and social medial networking systems. To lead campus-wide efforts and improve library services, they created workshops, based on survey data of the faculty interest, to show researchers how to create profiles, add publications, and expand collaborations in their fields. Their presentation ignited great interest and discussion from other institutions.
